Self-shoot photography means taking your own portraits with a studio camera and a remote shutter. The camera and lighting are set up for you. You choose when to take each photo, and a monitor helps you check the result.
At M Selfie Studio, you book a package and a time slot before visiting. You do not need to know how to use a professional camera. Our team shows you the remote and explains the setup when you arrive.
What you do during the session
Start with a few simple photos so you can see where to stand and how the framing looks. Then try the poses you have in mind. For a group, one person can hold the remote while everyone checks the monitor between rounds.
Please leave the camera, lights and stands in place. If you need an adjustment or something is not working, ask our team for help.
Is the camera angle fixed?
Self-shoot sessions mostly use a fixed camera position and angle. You control the shutter, but the camera stays in place rather than moving around you. You can still change your pose, turn your body, sit or stand, and try different group arrangements. Use the monitor to check that everyone fits in the frame.
A photographer-led shoot gives you more room to vary the camera angle. The photographer can move around, change the camera height and adjust the framing for different views or closer portraits. What is possible depends on the backdrop, lighting setup and time in your package.
If you want to try your own poses within a consistent frame, self-shoot is a good fit. If you have particular angles in mind or want help with posing and composition, consider a photographer-led session. Send us your reference photos before booking so we can check the setup with you.
Choose the space and package
Plain backdrops, Skyblue, Bookshelf and creative lighting have different packages. Some Self Shoot spaces are enclosed; Studio C is an open area. If an enclosed room matters to you, check the room before booking.
Session length, people limit and prints are listed on each package card. Plain-backdrop Solo is RM60 for 15 minutes; Duo is RM80 for 20 minutes. Themed packages have their own prices and times.
After the photos
Choose the prints included in your package with our team. Self-shoot digital files are usually provided on the same day by AirDrop or a download link. Save your files within the stated download window.
If you would rather have someone guide the poses and take the photos, choose a photographer-led session. Those packages have a separate editing and delivery schedule.
