Self-shoot photography is a studio session where you take your own photos with a professional camera and remote, not phone selfies, and not someone else standing behind the camera telling you when to smile. You get the room, lighting, and backdrop; you control the poses and the shutter. At M Selfie Studio on Jalan Puchong (Old Klang Road), the space is already set before you arrive, so your booked time goes into shooting. Some Self Shoot spaces are enclosed rooms; Studio C is an open area. Prefer someone from the studio to take the photos? Book a photographer package instead.

So what actually happens inside?

The camera is already set up. The lighting is already prepared, so you can focus on posing instead of fiddling with stands. There's a monitor showing what the camera sees, and a timer remote so you can pose without sprinting to the camera. We show you the basics at handover. You don't need studio experience before you arrive. Backdrop colour or themed set depends on what you booked. Props are on the shelves; leave the space tidy when you finish.

How a typical session runs

Most Self Shoot packages hold the space for about 15 to 30 minutes. Skyblue Duo is shorter; some themed or group cards run longer. Exact minutes are on the booking card. You can add extra time when you book. Two people fit a short session if you decide your three most important photos before the timer starts; checking every single frame burns time, so check the monitor between short rounds instead. Opening the door for help doesn't pause the clock.

  3. Settle in: backdrop or theme where the package allows, props you want, then start.
  4. Shoot with the remote: pose, trigger, check the monitor, adjust. Friends can swap who holds it.
  5. Pick prints if your package includes them, then get digitals by AirDrop or Google Drive, usually same day for Self Shoot.

Backdrops, themes, and props

Some bookings are our signature sky blue. Others are graduation bookshelf, birthday with gobo light, cake smash, or creative lighting. What's available right now is on packages and Studios.

Self Shoot or photographer?

If you already know the kind of photos you want, Self Shoot lets you keep trying until you get them. No stranger holding the camera. It works especially well for couples, friends, families, graduation groups, and anyone who simply prefers the room at their own pace, including shy or introverted guests. Bringing a pet?
