Studio guidelines and policies

Location and parking

Level 3 above MyNEWS: 03-6, Tiara Mutiara 2, 141 Jalan Puchong (Old Klang Road), 58200 KL. Stairs/lift on the right of MyNEWS. Basement carpark lift goes to our back entrance. Wheelchair friendly. Grab to “M Selfie Studio”.

Parking: (1) Shoplot front row (DBKL) if available; (2) Underground paid carpark (~RM2/hr then ~RM1/hr; rates may change).

Hours and walk-in

Opening hours: 11:00 – 19:00 daily (We are open daily, appointment based only.). We prefer no walk-ins; WhatsApp first. Walk-in only if a gap exists between bookings.

Session types

Self Shoot: use our camera, monitor, and remote. Photographer: staff photographer guides poses. Pets welcome (up to 5 via Pet add-on for suitable sessions). See studios.

Pax

Package pax is the maximum people in the session. No rotating extra people on a smaller package. Kids under 3 free except cake smash packages.

Booking and payment

Book at /booking. Manual bank transfer: 50% deposit or pay in full, then upload the receipt on the website. Uploading holds the slot until staff approve or cancel. Unpaid manual holds without a receipt expire after 30 minutes. Online holds: 15 minutes. At the studio: QR & cash for add-ons; QR or bank transfer for balance after a deposit — no card on site. New bookings still need upfront payment online. Makeup packages may be reserved with no payment until the studio confirms the artist.

Cancellation

Cancel at least 3 days before the session for a full deposit refund (manual bookings). One free online reschedule per booking via My Bookings.

On the day and photos

Arrive approximately 10 minutes early for check-in only (not for makeup or preparation). Your booked time is your photoshoot time — the studio shooting session. Timer starts at the booked start and does not pause. Self Shoot digitals: typically same day. Photographer: 1–3+ days. Google Drive link emailed after the session.

Studio equipment and property

Your booking includes the use of our studio. Studio equipment — including cameras, lenses, lights, and photography gear — must only be operated or adjusted by our staff.

Customers must not touch, move, adjust, or handle studio equipment, including but not limited to: camera bodies, camera lenses, lens glass / optical surfaces, tripods / camera stands, studio lights, light stands, light modifiers, cables and power equipment, backdrop paper, backdrop systems, props, furniture, studio fixtures, and other studio equipment or property.

Please do not touch or clean the camera lens. Oils, fingerprints, makeup, dust, or other contamination can affect image quality.

If you need a different camera angle, lighting position, height, or equipment adjustment, please ask our staff. Do not attempt to "help" or make adjustments yourself — even if you believe the adjustment is minor or harmless.

For Self Shoot sessions, use the provided timer remote and monitor as intended. Our staff sets up the camera and lighting; ask our staff for any changes.

Props, furniture, and backdrops: use only as intended. Do not deliberately move, damage, misuse, or alter studio property unless our staff permits it.

Damage, soiling, misalignment, breakage, or other problems caused by customer handling may result in cleaning, repair, replacement, restoration, or other reasonable and applicable charges. Accidentally touching something does not exempt you from responsibility.

Pets & Cleaning

We are pet-friendly and welcome small to medium-sized pets that can be safely carried or handled, subject to the booking rules. The standard Pet add-on supports up to 5 pets per booking. Larger animals, more than 5 pets, or specialised pet productions should be discussed with us in advance — Whole Studio / Studio Rental may be more suitable.

Because our studio is located in a shoplot environment with other occupants and customers nearby, pets must remain under control and must not create excessive noise, repeated barking/vocalisation, aggressive behaviour, roaming, safety hazards, or unreasonable disturbance. We operate a shared studio environment. Customers must be considerate of other guests and common areas.

Bring pets in a pet stroller or pet carrier until the shoot begins. Pets must wear a diaper and stay supervised rather than running loose.

Pets must not be allowed to urinate or defecate in the studio or common areas. If an accident occurs, the owner/handler is responsible for immediately informing staff and assisting as directed with the cleanup.

Additional cleaning, sanitation, repair, replacement or restoration charges may apply for fur/hair, saliva, urine, faeces, mud/dirt, scratching, chewing, damaged backdrop paper, props, furniture, flooring, contaminated surfaces, or other animal-related property damage — when this requires cleaning beyond normal studio cleaning.

Backdrop paper is studio consumable material. If it becomes heavily soiled, wet, torn or otherwise unusable, it may need to be cut off or replaced. Replacement or related cleaning charges may apply.

We may ask a pet/animal to leave the studio or stop a session if it becomes aggressive, uncontrollable, excessively noisy, disruptive, unsafe, or causes damage or hygiene concerns.

Studio Use & Content Policy

Our studio may only be used for lawful and appropriate photography, content creation and production activities. These rules help us maintain a safe, comfortable and professional environment for our customers, staff and other occupants in the building.

• pornographic or sexually explicit photography or video
• boudoir, erotic or fetish-focused photography
• BDSM or sexually fetishised content
• nude, topless, bottomless or intentionally sexually explicit shoots
• sexual services, escort/promotional sexual-content activities, or similar activities
• any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors
• unlawful activities or activities that may create a safety risk or serious disturbance

Any sexualised, explicit or exploitative content involving a person under 18 is strictly prohibited. We will not permit the studio to be used for such content and may immediately stop a session where there is a safety or safeguarding concern.

We also reserve the right to refuse or stop a shoot that is inconsistent with our studio policies, building rules, safety requirements, or reasonable standards for a shared studio environment. Customers must comply with Malaysian law, building rules and M Selfie Studio policies. Non-standard, commercial, specialised or production shoots may require advance disclosure and confirmation.

Accurate Booking Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about the people, pets/animals, photographers/crew, equipment, props and intended use of the studio.

If the actual booking materially differs from the information provided, M Selfie Studio may require changes to the setup, apply additional charges, refuse entry, stop the session, or cancel the booking according to the applicable booking terms and applicable law.

Where a booking is materially misrepresented, required advance approval was not obtained, or the customer materially breaches the agreed studio conditions, M Selfie Studio may refuse or stop the session and apply the applicable cancellation/refund terms. Where permitted by applicable law and the agreed booking policy, such a cancellation may result in forfeiture of payments already made.
